Group Business Coaching for Artists

A little business support can make a big difference to your creative success.

Being an artist means wearing lots of hats. Alongside creating your work, you're also responsible for finding customers, marketing, pricing, selling, managing your finances and making decisions about where your creative business goes next.

And sometimes, it's simply helpful to have someone to talk things through with.

Join us for a friendly, practical and affordable monthly online business coaching session, designed especially for artists, makers and creatives who want to develop the commercial side of their work.

Hosted by Heather Ogilvie, founder of Ogilvie Business School, experienced business leader and practising artist, these sessions bring together real-world business expertise with a genuine understanding of the opportunities and challenges of earning a living through creativity.

What can we talk about?

Each session is shaped by the people attending and the questions they bring. Topics might include:

  • Pricing your artwork and understanding your profitability

  • Finding customers and increasing sales

  • Marketing, social media and building your audience

  • Selling through galleries, exhibitions, websites and other channels

  • Building confidence in the business side of being an artist

  • Managing your money, costs and cash flow

  • Exploring new income streams and opportunities

  • Making decisions, overcoming obstacles and planning your next steps

There is no fixed agenda or formal presentation. This is an opportunity to ask questions, explore ideas, share experiences and benefit from practical coaching in a supportive group environment.

You may discover that another artist has exactly the same challenge as you, or that their question sparks an idea you'd never considered.

Who is it for?

These sessions are open to artists, makers and creatives at every stage of their business journey.

Whether you're just beginning to think about selling your work, already earning from your creativity or looking to take your established business further, you're very welcome.

How does it work?

We meet online once a month for two hours.

Bring your questions, your challenges, your ideas and perhaps a cup of tea. You'll have the opportunity to learn from Heather and from the experiences of other creative people in the group.

Our aim is simple: to help you feel more confident, capable and commercially successful as an artist.

Your host – Heather Ogilvie

Heather has spent decades building, growing, restructuring and leading businesses internationally, including serving as Group Chief Financial Officer and Strategy Director of major organisations.

She is also a practising artist, so she understands the creative world from both sides of the easel.

Through Ogilvie Business School, Heather brings her extensive commercial experience to practical, accessible business education that helps people turn their ideas and talents into successful enterprises.
